What are the requirements to become a member of National Honor Society?

Where and when do we meet?
Usually meetings are held in the auditorium on the first Wednesday of every month at 6:40 a.m. and 2:40 p.m.
Do I have to go to both the morning and afternoon meetings?
No, but you have to go to at least one. Waking up late and needing to ride the bus home are not excuses. If you really have to miss a meeting, contact Mrs. Goodwin in Room 105 before the meeting.
What is the minimum number of hours of service I need to have?
You need at least 8 hours of service every semester and 2 of the hours must be NHS sponsored (for a list of NHS sponsored activities go to the Service Form Page).
To whom do I turn in my hours?
Seniors turn in their forms to Mrs. Thorum in Room 131. Juniors turn in their forms to Mrs. Wilson in the Ninth Grade Center Room 220. Do not turn in forms to Mrs. Goodwin.
How do I letter?
You must have completed 38 hours of community service in one semester.
Emails? What emails?
Yes, there is an important email list. It's our main form of communication. If you are not receiving the emails or you are having trouble, contact NHS.
What happens when I don't get my minimum of 8 hours?
You're on probation for the next semester. If you don't make up those 8 hours as well as meet the next semester's requirement of 8 hours, you will be dismissed.
What if I get ISS or AEP?
You will be dismissed. Watch out for those tardy d-halls. If you don't serve them, they accumulate and become an ISS.
What if my GPA falls below 4.0?
You will be on probation. You have one semester to raise your grades before you are dismissed.
